Liberty Family Resources, LLC coordinates the writing, teaching, and speaking activities of Steve & Karen Braun.
Steve Braun is the creator and featured speaker in most of the workshops and presentations offered by Liberty Family Resources. He is the founder and president of Liberty Financial Planning where he works as a "fee-only" financial adviser serving families throughout Michigan and across the United States. Steve is also a writer, teacher, and conference speaker on various family and financial topics. Steve holds a BA in communications and an MBA in finance and marketing, with Honors, from the University of Michigan. Karen Braun facilitates the civilian elements of the Civil War Alive! living history program and also does ad hoc workshops on homeschooling and education issues. Karen is engaged in the full-time art of managing her home and homeschooling the Braun's children. She has also been a guest speaker on behalf of homeschooling issues on local and national radio programs, spoken at local and regional homeschool support groups, and defended Christian family values on a Detroit TV news program. She most recently served as the original blogging editor for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine. Karen holds a BS in computer science from the University of Michigan. Steve & Karen Braun
are devout Christians and the proud parents of their six
children, whom they homeschool. Their marriage and family life is a "work in
progress" like everyone else's. They do not claim to be
perfect or to have cornered the truth. Rather, they believe
God has called them to challenge and encourage families in their faith,
finances, and
efforts to raise godly children.
